Rachel Nolte is a second year student in the Occupational Therapy Masters Program.

"I am very interested in systems and how they shape the individual's experience when receiving health care services. Since our global change in circumstances, I have been trying to engage in various creative activities as a form of recreation and self-care away from the screen. When drawing, I like to depict whimsical and humorous scenes of objects and critters that bring me joy. "

"I'm living life, so I might as well study it. I take wildlife photos by day, and study how neural circuits develop by night. "

Our first featured artist is Mélise Ouellette. Mélise is a PhD student in Clinical Psychology, part of the Psychology, Neuroscience and Behaviour program.

"My research examines the relationship between anxiety and cannabis use. Painting has been one of my favourite hobbies since high school, where I learned the basics. As an animal lover, I paint wildlife and pets; my subjects have ranged from elephants and horses to dogs, birds, and even a frog. I paint on canvas and rocks/tiles which can be displayed with metal stands or hung on walls."
